SharkFest 2021

You’ve heard of Shark Week, right? It’s the week-long programming over on Discovery that is all about sharks. I love it. I didn’t have cable until my sophomore year of college, so I was late to the Shark Week train. But since I discovered it, I’ve been a fan.

Enter Disney+ and their inclusion of NatGeo. Honestly, I was skeptical of NatGeo at first because I loved the content Discovery had produced. The folks at National Geographic have knocked it out of the park.

Early last week, I saw the promotions for SharkFest. Of course I had to investigate! The main feature they were pushing was Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth. I’m in. Sharks + Thor. I’m going to be all over this.

In Shark Beach, Hemsworth investigates all the shark activity happening along the east coast of Australia where he has surfed many times. His charisma and his voice are perfect for hosting a show such as this. He also has a show in the works called Limitless, and Shark Beach has me amped for what is coming down the line.

Some of my other favorites from SharkFest 2021 include Mega Hammerhead, Most Wanted Sharks, The Croc That Ate Jaws, and The Great Shark Chow Down. All of these are great, and there are a whole lot more offerings on Disney+ as well.

I love sharks. Can you tell? If sharks intrigue you at all, check out some of these shows on Disney+. And if you’re worried about ruining that trip to the Florida beach in a couple weeks, check out Shark Beach. Since it takes place in Australia, you can tell yourself that all the sharks have migrated over there for the time being.
