#31-40 of Our Top 50 Reasons We Love Disney
We continue our celebration of 50 episodes of The Mouse and Men Podcast with ten more of our top reasons we love Disney, Disney World, and all thing about the Mouse.
40. The Land - This pavilion in EPCOT explores mankinds’ interaction with Mother Earth. Living with the Land, probably the main attraction in this area, explores the science of how Disney grows food to be used in its Florida resort. Talk about edutainment!
39. Something for Everyone - This is a big reason we started the podcast. Not into theme parks and roller coasters? No problem! Play a round or two or three of golf. Not a golfer? Eat your way around the resort trying world-class cuisine of all types. Not a foodie? Visit one of the spas on property. More of the outdoorsy type? Stay at the campgrounds, go bass fishing in the lake, and maybe take a ride on horseback. Sports enthusiast? Get a great run, bike ride, or workout in, and then go check out Disney’s Wide World of Sports or the ESPN Club.
38. Choose Your Own Adventure - With hotel offerings at a variety of price points and things to do outside the parks, you don’t have to take out a second mortgage to have a great time at Disney World. You have the freedom to choose what fits your mood, your style, and your budget.
BONUS: Talk to a travel agent who can help you plan the perfect vacation for you and your family as well as keep an eye on discounts.
37. Never Leave the Resort - There isn’t much reason to leave the resort area. Gas stations and convenient stores have some groceries and other needed items you might need. Resorts are loaded with snacks, first aid items, sandwiches, toiletries, and most everything else you could need while you visit. And if that doesn’t work, there is always Amazon or grocery delivery.

36. Magic Express (for now) - The Magical Express is and was a thing of beauty. It goes away at the end of 2021, but it has been a gift to those flying into Orlando’s MCO airport. Register your family in advance, get special tags for your luggage, and when you land in Orlando, skip baggage claim and head straight to the bus! Not far behind will be your luggage, and you don’t have to worry about a thing. Just find a seat and watch some Disney cartoons as you catch a free ride to your Disney resort hotel
*COVID changed things and required you to get your own luggage, but you still got that free ride!
35. Disney Transportation - Technically the Magical Express isn’t Disney-owned transportation. But once you were on Disney World property, you have a host of free transportation options. The buses are the most popular - they take you from every resort to every park and Disney Springs early, late, and often. The Monorail is there to transport you in future style. The boats ferry you across the water to your destination. And the new Skyliner carries you through the air to fun and adventure. All free, of course!
34. Disney Transportation Air Conditioning - It’s so good, it needs its own spot on our list! At the end of a long, hot Florida day, there is nothing quite like hopping on a Disney bus and feeling like you just stepped onto a magical refrigerator on wheels. There’s no waiting for the car to cool off; it’s just there waiting for you. What witchcraft is this air conditioning on Disney busses?!
33. The Disney Bubble - When inside the Disney bubble, everything outside doesn’t exist. Disney wants you to be so immersed that the worries of the world melt away. And their characters? They have no idea what Harry Potter, Nintendo, or the Oakland Athletics are. If it’s not Disney, it doesn’t exist.
32. Newer Intellectual Property Acquisition - First Pixar, then Marvel, and most recently Lucasfilm and Star Wars. All three of these seem to just fit with Disney. Pixar, with its long-standing history with Disney from their first feature film, has always seemed a part of Disney to most fans. Marvel’s movies were treated so well in Disney’s hands. And George Lucas has licensed Star Wars and Indiana Jones to Disney for so long, it just seemed inevitable that an acquisition would happen.
31. How Disney Acquired Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm - Some companies buy other companies only to split them up and sell them. Others buy them because it helps their supply chain. Disney bought each of these companies because these companies could help Disney tell great stories, and Disney could help produce those stories.
